NextGen Ri Expands Thermal Imaging Capabilities with Thermal Vision Industrial

NextGen Ri has announced a collaboration with Thermal Vision Industrial, giving its robotics platform access to a wider range of high-performance thermal imaging systems.

The partnership strengthens NextGen Ri’s existing use of thermal technology by adding new capabilities, more choice for clients, and opportunities to customise solutions for specialist applications.

NextGen Ri’s robots, based on agile Unitree hardware, are already deployed with thermal cameras. By working with Thermal Vision Industrial, the company can now integrate advanced thermal vision products tailored to specific environments. From pinpointing hot spots in warehouses for early fire detection to extending the effectiveness of perimeter patrols in low-visibility conditions.

For industries where precise data capture and real-time situational awareness are critical, from geospatial and construction to utilities and security, the collaboration delivers more robust tools to support surveying, infrastructure monitoring, and digital twin creation. Whether mapping remote assets, inspecting utilities, or capturing thermal layers alongside photogrammetry, pairing mobile robots with advanced thermal imaging opens new opportunities for faster, safer, and richer data collection.

“This collaboration isn’t about introducing thermal imaging for the first time, it’s about raising the bar,” said James Brown Managing Director at NextGen Ri. “Our clients will now have access to proven thermal vision products that can be matched to their exact operational needs, whether that’s industrial safety, security, or inspection.”

Thermal Vision Industrial brings decades of experience and a broad product portfolio to the partnership. For NextGen Ri, this means clients will benefit from systems that are trusted across industries, with the flexibility to configure robots for real-world challenges rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.

“Robotics is a platform, and thermal imaging is one of the most powerful tools we can add to it,” said Matthew Clavey, Director at Thermal Vision Industrial.  He adds “By making our products available to NextGen Ri, we’re enabling robots to operate more effectively in demanding, round-the-clock environments.”

The strengthened offering positions NextGen Ri’s robots as adaptable, data-rich tools for businesses that need to monitor, detect, and respond quickly in critical situations.
